Coromandel Peak (you might also know it as Roy’s Peak) is THE iconic Wanaka helicopter wedding photography destination.
With wide, sweeping views north across Lake Wanaka, this view always takes your breath away.
The Peninsula is an easy flight to see amazing views of Lake Wanaka. Being slightly lower than the others it means it is pretty much always great to fly there regardless of the weather.
With views in all directions, you cannot take bad photos up here!
Lookout Point looks up Lake Wanaka from the Western side, with stunning views & an easy heli ride from Aspiring Helicopters this is a great option. There are lots of different options for landing so can get a huge variety of photos. Plenty with lake views & plenty with the mountains behind.
Loch Nagar is an incredible Alpine Lake way off in the mountains between Wanaka & Queenstown. If you really want to feel like you are getting away then this place is truely special. With an amazing flight, views of mountains and of course the lake, Loch Nagar is truely an awesome choice.
Way off in the hills in Mt Aspiring National Park there are so many great places to land in the snow. Tyndall & Isobel Glacier being some of them. Depending on the weather and snow fall these options are absolutely beautiful if you want a snowy mountain wedding.
Make sure you bring some good shoes though as it can be deep!
Mt Alta is an easy flight up behind Lake Wanaka, with beautiful views over Wanaka and down the Cardrona Valley this is a great spot for a quick easy flight.
Including the below there is also Fog Peak, Lake Erskine & Bayonet Peak, you can also get to Coromandel Peak in Wanaka from the Queenstown Airport.
Cecil Peak is just a six minute flight from the Queenstown airport. With views up Lake Whakatipu as well as back over Queenstown itself this is a super easy way to get up high where no one else can see you & you can have that adventure wedding you have always dreamed of.
Earnslaw Burn is past the head of Glenorchy off the top of Lake Whakatipu, an incredible flight through the mountains takes you to his stunning valley where its unlikely you will see another person. With waterfalls, glaciers and mountains galore this is truely the place to fly in Queenstown if you want to feel like you have been on an adventure.
